Disposal of old batteries

Information according to §18 Battery Act (BattG)

In connection with the sale of batteries or accumulators, or devices operated with batteries or accumulators, we as a retailer are obliged according to the Battery Act (BattG) to inform about the relevant regulations and duties: Please ensure that you dispose of your old batteries/accumulators as required by law at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. Batteries and accumulators may not be disposed of in household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators. Old batteries can contain harmful substances which, if not stored or disposed of properly, can harm the environment or your health. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and are recycled. The return is free of charge for you. You are also welcome to return batteries/accumulators purchased from us free of charge after use. Returns of batteries/accumulators should be sent to the address given in the imprint. Batteries and accumulators containing harmful substances are clearly marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. Furthermore, below the symbol of the crossed-out dustbin, the chemical designation of the corresponding harmful substances is indicated. Examples of these are: (Pb) lead, (Cd) cadmium, (Hg) mercury.
